Handfasting
We have had such a happy week so far and though the pictures aren't back from the photographer yet, here are a couple taken by a friend of ours:
Hands fasted and tying the knot!

The passing around of cakes and mead

The wonderful petals that were our natural confetti at the Handfasting

Catching our breath before we headed back to the reception

Us arriving at the reception in our gansta car!

The cake - chocolate sponge on the inside - much yummier than fruit cake!

Cutting the cake

Some of the wonderful flowers

Congratulations. My wife and I are planning to be handfasted next year and it was brilliant seeing your beautiful photos.
Oh so beautiful- so wonderful- a glorious day and a lovely loving couple.Thankyou for sharing with us your very special day.
Thank you - I don't think I stopped grinning all day.
Chris, one thing that we really loved was that the two people who organised the Handfasting for us, friends who are Druids, arranged that there were lots of lengths of ribbon, which got passed around so that people could tie a bit to the Handfasting cords with a wish or blessing for us. As you can see, there were a lot of ribbons and they are now always with us as a reminder of such a happy day and so much love and affection coming our way.
We plaited our own cords, Silver for the Lady, gold for the God and purple because we both love it and it's the colour of spirituality and thought. Luckily, Kim was better at whipping than I was (from his fishing days) so we sorted the ends out really neatly and they should last longer than either of us!
Each year we will add a knot to the cords to mark our anniversary and another year that we want to be with each other - it probably sounds a bit mushy, but it's such a nice way to mark the passing of our time together.
Do you all have your heads in your sick-bags yet with all this soppiness? I should guess so! Hey ho! I don't care - I can't remember feeling this happy. Honestly, I look like a village idiot the way I'm grinning.
sick? No way, I've gone all mushy myself, a little blurry eyed too. There is nothing sicky about people being happy and in love, it's wonderful to hear about it! Your day looks so lovely and I'm happy that it all went well for you both. I wish the two of you a long, happy and fulfilled life together!
You have found your Anam Cara, never stop smiling!!

It's true, I have found my Anam Cara, though both of us took a while to work it out.
We started going out with each other while I was still at school in 1973 or 4 (can't remember exactly, it was so long ago), drifted apart and had separate lives and found each other again in 2004. So, apart from a nearly 30 year gap, we've known each other for a while. Sometimes it takes the universe to give one a hand-bagging around the back of the head to realise what's under one's nose!
Now, we are learning to make magic together and our days are feeling magical too. I feel so loved and safe and cherished - and it's mutual. Ok, you've got me reaching for the sick bag now! Hahhahaha!
And now, I'm going to spend some time with my husband... Goddess, that feels weird to say, but rather nice!
Wonderful pictures! How happy you look! I wish you many blessings and much happiness - but I think you already have both anyway!
Radiant! Thanks for posting the pics. You and your hubby look so happy. And that car! Stylin'
Peace Mereth
I've not had the chance to stop by for a while and so finding these photos is a pleasant surprise. Very nice indeed. As Andy said, you all look so happy - and rightly so too.
Bright blessings to you and yours...

Thank you. It's just the best. I can't explain how happy and contented I feel. It couldn't be better!
