The Blue Nile
Well, I was lurking in a Tesco car park the other day, just about to jump out the car and some programme on Radio 4 was on with Annie Lennox talking about music she liked. She mentioned The Blue Nile and I have to admit that I hadn't heard of them; they played A Walk Across The Rooftops and I was just smitten. I sat, half in and half out of the car and had to listen. I dashed home and downloaded the eponymous first album and Hats and it's all I've listened to since. What haunting, amazing music and incredible vocals.
That's all. I've seen another deer, this one with sprouting baby antlers, I've had innumerable pheasants playing chicken in the lanes and apart from that, life has been dull and grindingly busy. Still, at least I have something wonderful to listen to while I'm working!

Awwww. sprouting baby antlers. Too precious!!
The Blue Nile! Haven't heard anything by them in an age - sorely missed. I wasn't ever a fan as such but remember them from the radio - one to play me when I see you next! x
Late in finding them (I shall be late for my own funeral, the way I'm going), I am just entranced by the richness of the sound; frustrated too, as I can't make my puny voice do what Neil Buchannan's can do!
I've not heard of them, but I'll check them out!
I'm also wondering if you feel the Somerset pheasants are stalking you?!? It seems they're all heading in your direction, as I've not seen any yet!
Stalking me? Get yourself on the back road from Dowlish Wake to Knowle St. Giles and you'll find them all playing silly buggers with my car in the mornings!
Blue Nile = well worth a listen!
Must check out Blue Nile- I too have not heard of them. We have a couple of pheasants- honking & lurking in the fields beyond the garden. I think the local farmers have been trying to get them- but thankfully have missed.
Don't you have a season the same as over here? Pheasants aren't supposed to be shot until August so that it doesn't disturb their breeding season. If the farmers are being sneaky and hunting early, they should be reported!
I grabbed my music off iTunes and you can listen to a bit of each track, which is a sure way of avoiding anything you don't like!
Actually the pheasant season is November to end of Jan in Eire. But the gun laws are very differant. I think they can shoot at what ever they like ( Game that is ) on their own land! Anyway the pheasant got away- so far.
Long life to the pheasants!
